Araiye enjoys music, spoken word, sports, and art, and is currently studying Sociology and Political Science at community college. She also has extensive volunteer experience in the areas of activism and youth engagement. Araiye's wish is for a laptop computer which will cost approximately $600. Angel RodriguezAngel, 9, is a 3rd grader with some health and behavioral challenges. He wants to be active, but needs extra encouragement to stay focused. Karate seemed like a natural fit for Angel as it provides a structured program of discipline, physical activity, and a built-in rewards system. However, the costs of attending have been prohibitive for Angel's mom who is a single parent. Angel's wish is to take karate lessons which will cost approximately $550. He has a heavy workload and has daily assignments and essays he must complete at the library after school because he doesn't have a computer at home. This is a real hardship for his family who work multiple jobs to make ends meet, and must arrange transportation for Bruce to get home once the library closes. Bruce's wish is to have his own laptop to complete assignments at home. This flexibility will help take some of the stress off completing his schoolwork, and it will also remove the unpredictability of Bruce's schedule so the family doesn't have to scramble for transportation. The cost to fund his wish is approximately $600. Can you help Bruce get a laptop to continue his forward momentum towards college?

This year might be different thanks to donors who remember how important it was to them as a teenager to belong to something. Dominic struggles with self-esteem and playing sports is a great way to develop confidence and learn how to get along with others. She is taking AP classes and currently holds a 4.2 GPA in her pursuit of becoming an aerospace engineer. This phenomenal young woman also plays soccer and tennis on her school's teams. And she's done all of this while her family has been split up for the past few years. She and two other family members live here in the U.S., while the rest of her family are unable to immigrate.
