Carlos, 19, is a 12th grader who enjoys listening to music, playing with his two dogs, and helping others. Carlos will be the first in his family to attend college, and plans to study Criminal Justice as a freshman at Sac State this fall. Carlos shared that he comes from a low income neighborhood with lots of gang activity. He plans on becoming a probation officer or criminal investigator after college. "I want to keep my community safe and work with kids to help them stay out of trouble." Carlos has extensive volunteer experience including tutoring elementary students, doing clean up work at his school, and helping out at a local children's center.
Carlos needs a laptop to complete school assignments, and TWLP Student Enrichment Grants program can provide this important tool so he can focus on doing his best in college. A gift of any amount can help ensure that more young people like Carlos get a chance to succeed in school and beyond.
