Laura, 18, is a senior in high school and a homeless teen in need of assistance. Despite her circumstances, Laura is the first in her family to graduate from high school this spring. She works part time and is a good student who tries to stay focused on her education, despite the challenges of caring for herself, keeping herself safe, and paying for the extra things that make senior year special. Laura enjoys walking and reading, and tutors students at the local elementary school. Laura plans to attend College of the Sequoias in the fall as a Social Work or Pre-Veterinary major. She is the first in her family to go on to college.
Thanks to generous donors, we are able to grant Laura's wish of attending her senior prom with her friends. From the dress and shoes to the dinner and evening photos, this is an event that she will remember for the rest of her life.
TWLP Student Grants make a difference for kids like Laura who just want to know what it's like to be a regular kid.
